Helping Beavers Fix It
Where waterways have collapsed, we set the table for beavers with low-tech, process-based restoration.
Twice yearly, we assemble a jaunty crew of humans to work like beavers for 2-3 weeks in the lands stewarded by the Bureau of Land Management Medford District, the US Forest Service Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, and Vesper Meadow Education Program.
Case Study: Restoration at Vesper Meadow

Vesper Meadow is nestled in the divide of the Cascade and Siskiyou Mountains of southern Oregon; a 900-acre meadow surrounded mixed-conifer hillsides that cradle spring-fed Latgawa Creek. This waterway has collapsed under some aggressive land management decisions over the past 200 years, and we are honored to assist the Vesper Meadow Education Program by working like beavers (and bringing real beavers back) to restore water to this meadow.
